Big Lake Neighborhood Information
Population / Demographics Big Lake
County:
Skagit County
Big Lake is a census-designated place located in Skagit County just outside of Mount Vernon and is generally included as part of its metropolitan statistical area. The lakefront city is known for its idealic, rural environment but in recent years it has become home to a growing suburban population with new development. Its scenic views and charming, small-town feel have made it a desirable escape for residents and tourists alike looking to escape the big city environs to the south. Many of the buildings along the historic northern shore of the lake are remnants from the city's days as a bustling logging town in the early 1900's.
