Richmond Beach is a scenic and family friendly community to live and play, with sprawling homes overlooking the Puget Sound and the distant Olympic Mountains to smaller homes from several decades back down near the waterfront and historic buildings including dining near the beach, or to just share a drink and a good times with friends while looking on the water and across the Sound.

In relation to Shoreline, Richmond Beach is a community far to the west of the populated areas of Shoreline and major shopping. In comparison, Richmond Beach descends in elevation toward the waterfront and the Puget Sound. Once you're in the community of Richmond Beach, it's easy to forget that the city of Seattle is just a few miles to the southwest. Down on the beach, it's like being on the ocean, considering that the Puget Sound is one of the largest bodies of salt water along the coastal United States.

Richmond Beach is a desirable, scenic, and lively community located in the northwest corner of the City of Shoreline. The unincorporated neighborhood has a long history dating to the 1800s, which several of the area's original buildings still being used. The waterfront community was named one of the 2010 Best Places to Live according to Seattle Metropolitan magazine.

The Community Association helps to maintain the community with an array of improvement projects and planning to ensure the neighborhood's integrity and the quality of life for residents are not compromised. They host many community-wide events, which regularly bring residents together. The Community Association's presence has allowed the area to grow from a farming town along Puget Sound into a bustling, rich community within the City of Shoreline.
